Mishte Series: Hot Honey BBQ Ribs

Day 3 in our Purim Mishte series and we’re making these fall off the bone, hot honey BBQ ribs.


A little sweet, a little spicy - these short ribs are perfectly balanced, melt in your mouth and totally irresistible.

3 lbs short ribs or spare ribs



Spice rub:


  • 1 Tbsp paprika

  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 Tbsp onion powder

  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper



Hot honey BBQ sauce:


  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1/2 cup bbq sauce

  • 1 Tbsp sriracha

  • 3 cloves garlic, finely grated



DIRECTIONS:


  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.

  2. In a baking pan, layer short ribs in a single layer. Mix all the spice rub ingredients together and sprinkle both sides of ribs evenly.

  3. Top with a wet piece of parchment paper, cover with lid and bake for 2 hours.

  4. While ribs cook, prepare your hot honey BBQ sauce by mixing all ingredients for the sauce together.

  5. After 2 hours, pour hot honey sauce over ribs, cover and bake a for additional hour.

  6. Raise heat to 400°F, uncover and bake for 10 minutes to caramelize the tops.

  7. If desired, garnish with micro greens or chopped herbs.
