I dreamt about making these for so long. Literally what my dreams are made of.
Nutty.
Chocolaty.
Not too sweet.
Slightly salty.
It has my name written all over it!
A Ferrero rocher inspired triangle in honor of Purim. Make them for purim, they are easier than they look!
Yields about 15 triangles
1 1/4 cup of hazelnuts, divided
3 tbsp Nutella (or another chocolate spread)
1 egg yolk
Brick sheets
Oil
200g baking chocolate
Hazelnut brittle, to sprinkle
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
In the bowl of a mini chopper, mince 1 cup of hazelnuts until fine. Transfer to a bowl and mix with nutella and egg yolk.
Using your hand, form balls placing a full hazelnuts in the middle to resemble a ferrero.
Cut long strips of brick sheets and brush with oil. Place a ball of the mixture and fold in triangle. Use more oil to secure the end. Place on baking sheet.
Repeat for all. Bake for 20-23 minutes.
Melt baking chocolate using a double boiler.
Once triangles are a little cooled, use a spoon to pour chocolate on a corner. Do not dip in chocolate because brick sheets can decompose and dirty your chocolate. Sprinkle hazelnut brittle on the chocolate. Lay down to cool.
